CASI Pharmaceuticals $CASI has been in the doldrums for the past 6-years. But in the past couple of months, it has been making quite a move. CASI Weekly Chart(click to enlarge)Range:- Note that in 2012 the market established a price range roughly between $0.90 and $3.10 a share. - Since then, price has for the most part remains within this range.- In fact, since mid-2015, price has traded under a lower resistance around 2.20, and then 1.80. - So we can say that the market has been consolidating, but shifted slightly more bearish since mid-2015. The narrowing also shows a lack of interest in CASI in general. The pop:- Note however the strong pop from around 1.00 to above 2.00 in the recent weeks.- In just a couple of months CASI has rallied above multi-year highs, and crossed above the key 200- and 100-week simple moving averages.Upside:- Smaller-cap Pharmaceuticals are very volatile, so if it starts to rally, it can surge very quickly. - For now, I think there is upside to at least 3.00 and even the 3.75 high from 2013. - I think under 3.75, CASI is still considered sideways, NOT bullish.- A break above 4.00 might open up even more upside. But for now, let's limit our bullish outlook to 3.00 and at most 3.75. - Seeing support around 1.25-1.50 should help strengthen the case for the short to medium-term bullish scenario. Still, remember that the long-term scenario is still sideways with a bearish bias because that was the mode before CASI started ranging.
